How to Move Large Furniture

Attention

・When purchasing large items, there may be instances where delivery to your residence is not possible without prior confirmation. We kindly ask that you verify in advance whether the product packaging can pass through your entrance, stairs, landings, and room doorways before placing your order.

・Even if you request installation and assembly, there may be cases where delivery is not possible due to the size of the furniture. Therefore, we ask that you confirm the delivery route.

・If the product cannot be delivered to the designated room due to restrictions at the entrance or along the delivery route, a cancellation fee will be charged to the customer.

・When delivering large items, we may request your assistance in carrying the items to your doorstep. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation.

・If there is no elevator or the elevator cannot be used, and delivery via stairs is required, additional charges may apply for deliveries to the second floor or higher (including the second floor). We kindly ask for your understanding in this matter.

※In the case of hoisting, additional charges may apply.

Please pay special attention in the following cases.

Elevator Door
Width: Up to 31.5"/0.8M
Height: Up to 82.7"/2.1M

Step Width

Less than 39.4"/1M

Entrance

Less than 31.5"/0.8m

Corridor

Less than 39.4"/1M

Please check the inside of the door and the width of the corridor.

Please confirm the key points of the moving-in route.

1. Confirmation of product size

Please first check the width (W), height (H), and depth (D) of the product. Additionally, confirm whether the product can be tilted or not.

For determining whether the product can be brought in, it is recommended to ensure there is at least an additional 4"/10 cm of space on all sides. Furthermore, the width of the entry path must be at least as wide as the shortest dimension of the furniture you wish to move, whether it be the width, depth, or height.

※ For products with packaging dimensions listed, please be sure to check the packaging size.

2. Verification Points for Moving Route and Size

Please ensure that there are no obstructions such as protruding door handles, light fixtures, or other obstacles in the following areas.

3. Delivery via Elevator

If there is an elevator, please ensure that its size is sufficient. The dimensions of the elevator entrance and the interior must be larger than the furniture.

If the longest dimension among the width, depth, and height of the furniture is smaller than the height of the elevator entrance, and the shortest dimension is smaller than the depth of the elevator interior, the furniture will fit into the elevator.
Even if the longest dimension of the furniture is larger than the height of the elevator entrance, it may still fit into the elevator by tilting the furniture as shown in the diagram.

To ensure that the longest dimension of the furniture is shorter than the height of the elevator's interior, allowing the furniture to be stood upright inside. If the furniture cannot be stood upright and must be tilted, the depth of the furniture when tilted must be less than the depth of the elevator.

4. At the stage of delivery

The ceiling height may be insufficient, making it impossible to bring in items. In particular, the landing requires enough height to stand the products upright. Please be especially cautious with spiral or right-angled staircases.

※ When moving furniture up spiral staircases or landings, it may be necessary to stand the furniture upright and turn it around. Therefore, the ceiling height of the landing must be greater than the longest dimension of the packaged furniture.
※ If the staircase width is less than 39.4"/1M, it will be difficult to move large furniture.

If the door cannot be opened

If you place the luggage in front of the entrance, you won't be able to open the door, and if you open the door, the luggage won't be able to pass through.

When you open the door and find it impassable

If you place the luggage in front of the entrance, you won't be able to open the door, and if you open the door, the luggage won't be able to pass through.

If rotation is not possible

Even if the door can be opened more than 90 degrees, there may still be cases where it is not possible to bring items in. Please exercise sufficient caution.

Please confirm the following sizes

Effective width of the hallway and height up to the ceiling

Width and height of the interior side of the door

Protrusions such as doorknobs when the interior door is open

Protrusions such as lighting fixtures on the ceiling

Regarding the indoor corridor delivery route, please be mindful of protruding parts such as corners and doorknobs.

Verification of Effective Width and Delivery Method

Method for Checking Corners in Indoor Hallways

If the ceiling is lower than the longest dimension of the product, transport the product horizontally.
When moving the product in, if there is a corner in the hallway, carry the furniture vertically and rotate it. However, please be aware that there may be obstacles such as doorknobs or other protrusions inside the room that could hinder the process.
Please check the effective width by subtracting the size of the protrusions from the width of the passage or hallway.
